Know which authority said what.

Read the original sources behind twelve document guides between Canada, France, Great Britain and the United States. This is a reading list, not an approved route database.

Original source ≠ travel clearance or current-law sign-offLinks can contain superseded documents, older explanations or conditions that depend on your specific trip. “Research checked” is when PetWaymark recorded a source check — not the authority's publication, amendment or effective date. We have not independently revalidated every listed URL today.

48 distinct original sources across 5 authority and carrier groups. Repeated URLs appear only once. No source listing authorises a journey.

    Original source ↗
  • GOV.UK: Great Britain pet health certificateResearch checked: · Official authority

GOV.UK uses certificate issue for its ten-day entry condition; US APHIS separately describes private signature and endorsement. Do not silently treat these events as identical.

  • CDC: foreign-vaccinated dogs with high-risk country historyResearch checked: · Official authority

Foreign-vaccinated/high-risk pathway, including cases without accepted US-return evidence. Confirm documents, facility and arrival airport; a valid titer does not remove ordinary pet facility services.

    Original source ↗
  • CDC: US-vaccinated dogs returning after high-risk country visitsResearch checked: · Official authority

Conditional US-vaccinated/high-risk branch. Prepare the specific endorsed CDC vaccination form before US departure; a current EU export certificate is not a substitute.

  • USDA APHIS: US-to-Canada dog and cat record branchesResearch checked: · Official authority

Canadian authorities

CFIA veterinary and document-endorsement procedures.

  • CFIA: Canadian companion guidance for US-bound dogsResearch checked: · Official authority

Page modified 1 August 2024 gives blanket high-risk-history advice. CDC now distinguishes vaccination branches; the Canada guide discloses the scope difference and clears no high-risk-history crossing.

    Original source ↗
  • CFIA: destination-specific pet export certificatesResearch checked: · Official authority

Generic export wording does not override a destination-specific instruction, such as CFIA's no-endorsement statement for US-bound domestic-cat records.

    Original source ↗
  • CFIA: domestic dog and cat import evidence rulesResearch checked: · Official authority

Different domestic-cat and dog age/accompaniment branches; country-residence evidence is not inferred from the last departure. No individual entry decision.

  • CFIA: EU certificate signature and endorsement instructionsResearch checked: · Official authority

CFIA starts its ten-day instruction at the Canadian licensed-veterinarian signature. The French June 2026 note separately describes official issue or competent-authority endorsement; do not merge these events.

  • French DGAL: June 2026 pet-entry information noteResearch checked: · Official authority

Category classification and conditions need individual review; this page does not clear a dog for entry.

    Original source ↗
  • Service Public: preparing pet travel from FranceResearch checked: · Official authority

General French traveller guidance. Its passport and return wording does not decide individual GB entry documents, residence or France re-entry conditions.

What is not verified?Separate owner/pet travel wording, the GB AHC return date anchor, older-passport history, US-to-GB certificate clocks and generic GB non-EU versus US-state certificate wording remain explicit. The cats-only APHIS selector repeats a dog-only treatment statement; it is not applied to cats. Canadian/French certificate date anchors, CFIA’s older US-dog guidance and the historical 2923 return-passport statement also remain explicit. Your actual document, first entry, animal-specific requirements and carrier acceptance still need checking. A source listing does not confirm your journey.
