Information is not permission.

These document explainers help you prepare questions for the people responsible for the actual journey.

How to use this material

PetWaymark describes selected document handoffs and links to original official sources. Its worksheet is a discussion aid with space for paper replies. Reading a guide or marking a question discussed does not confirm eligibility, complete documentation, border clearance, exemption from quarantine or boarding.

Who makes the decisions

Serhat Kınalı is responsible for PetWaymark's editorial decisions. The issuing veterinarian and competent authorities determine official documentation and animal-health requirements; the border authority and actual carrier make their own checks. PetWaymark does not assess an animal's health or issue travel documents.

Verify before booking

Check current departure, destination, transit and return requirements directly with the relevant authority and actual operator. Bring the particular animal's history and itinerary to an authorised veterinarian. A published carrier listing or an official-source link cannot confirm a specific pet booking.

Limited explanatory scope

The current guides focus on accompanied, non-commercial cat and dog travel. Commercial movements, sales or rehoming, young animals, assistance-animal questions, restricted dog categories and complex transit need separate professional or authority assessment. Great Britain and Northern Ireland are distinct regulatory destinations.

Current publication status

All content remains a private research preview awaiting final publication review. We offer no automated travel date, complete route checklist, personalised compliance verdict, booking or certificate generation. The correction channel is currently offline.
